Empowering the un-technical with more control over their sites…
Welcome!!!
As we have talked with more and more of our friends, particularly those in the art community, a recurring theme about websites has appeared. There seems to be a general frustration in the amount of control the owner of the website has.
It appears that the web designers are somewhat hesitant to allow the owner to have much to do with the changing or updating of the site, i.e., the implementation of those updates has to be done by the web designer. So in addition to paying for the initial design, the owner also has to continue to pay for support, even for the most routine changes.
Does this describe your experience?
With the emergence of the blogosphere, this ability for the un-technical to run their own sites, at least to some degree, has been created. And one of the major players is Wordpress.
During the development of this site, and several others we have been able to learn alot about web site development and blogs in particular. Which brings us to the point of this page.
Periodically we will be offering tips and insights into how one can enter the world of blogs — avoiding many of the pitfalls others have experienced.
So we invite you to join in this journey of having not only a presence on the world wide web, but also having some rudimentary control of the site…
